Happy Handstands!

What have I started? What am I in for? I'll tell you what I am in for. Hours and hours of kartwheels, and handstands. Hours of mom watch this, and mom did you see that?

A couple of months ago Anna and I were working on her kartwheels. She has always wanted to take gymnastics, but I have always been leary because of her Hydrocephalus. Well.... after much pleading and begging on Anna's part. I called her neurosurgeon and he informed me that Anna has no restrictions when it comes to her shunt, and that gymnastics would fall into that "no restrictions" category.

In January I signed Anna and Trin up for classes at The Little Gym. Trini is in the birdies class where she has learned to "smell her belly". This is the terminology they use to teach forward rolls. She loves it and has a blast! I think her favorite is the balance beam!

Anna is in a gymnastics class, and she loooooves it. It is becoming a 24 hour thing for her. I think I watch gymnastic skills at least 500 times a night. She even has dreams of handstand rolls. Just today I heard that she is quite the gymnast at recess which scares the pee waddley doo out of me! Don't worry, we already had a talk about that. Her response to our discussion was how is she going to make it to the olympics if she doesn't have time to practice?

So as Anna's passion for this sport continues to grow pray for us!

Pray that I have the kind of patience that my mom had. She also has watched many kartwheels, roundoffs, flip flops, and handstands. As a child I can remember doing them not only at home, and in the yard, but yes.... in the grocery store. My poor Mom. I had no idea what I was putting her through! She always watched, smiled, and cheered us on!

Pray for Bub! He is such a good brother, but I think this gymnastics thing is driving him crazy. I have already heard him say "I already saw that" so many times.

Pray for Trin. Pray she doesn't get bruised or hit or kicked from flying feet!

Pray for Casey. He hides his eyes 95% of the time he watches her. I'm afraid he just might have a heart attack.

Lastly, pray for Anna. Pray that God holds her close and protects her from harm.

And, until next time.....Happy Handstands!!!
